Members of the B.M.C. Durfee High School Peaceful Coalition held a Kick-off to a Peaceful Summer games event at Britland Park on June 25, 2010. The event followed a kick-off event at Community Development Recreation and a Peace March from Bank Street to the Park behind the Fall River Police station on Pleasant Street. Participants had the chance to compete in a three-on-three basketball tournament, demonstrate break dancing, play soccer, or get their face painted by staff and volunteers from United Neighbors of Fall River..  Funding for the event was provided by the Shannon Initiative Street Outreach Program.
