of the B.M.C. Durfee High School
Peaceful Coalition
held a Kick-off to a Peaceful Summer games event at
Britland Park on June 25, 2010. The event followed a kick-off event
at Community Development Recreation and
a Peace March from Bank Street to the Park behind the Fall River Police
station on Pleasant Street. Participants had the chance to compete in a
three-on-three basketball tournament, demonstrate break dancing, play
soccer, or get their face painted by staff and volunteers from United
Neighbors of Fall River.. Funding for the event was provided by the
Shannon
Initiative Street Outreach Program.
