The Fall River Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and the Career Centers invited employers and business representatives to the Quequechan Club on June 23, 2010 to learn more about workforce incentives and other resources available to them. WIB Executive Director Tom Perreira welcomed about 75 participants to the three-hour event and then introduced panelists Lou Gunning of Meditech, Mary Anne Saab of Kelly Services and Kelly Fess of Stop and Shop who each described their own positive experiences in working with the Career Center. Worksite Health Coordinator Jasiel Correia II was on hand to talk with employers about how they might increase their resources for health maintenance and improvement. The project is part of an effort by the Southcoast Worksite Health and Wellness Collaborative and Healthy City Fall River to encourage small employers to address wellness among their employees. More information about the project can be obtained by calling or e-mailing Mr. Correia at 508-496-1433. Click here for information about the Collaborative and a membership application form.
