The newly-created Youth
CHOICES task force (Community
building and mobilization for Healthy youth development through positive
Opportunities, Intervention and prevention, Collaboration, Empowerment and
Support to ensure success)
held its second meeting on January 6, 2010 at CD-REC to consider issues
around positive youth development. The upcoming CommUNITY Service Projects
and the Red Wagon Competition was discussed as was the Youth
of the Year competition and the appointment
of two youth delegates to the City Council, School Committee, and the
Park board and one to the Library board. The group will also be working on
an application for the second two-year award of the 100
Best Communities for Youth and Promise Places. |
