A small group of walkers met at Fighting Rock Corner at the intersection of Wilson Road, Bell Rock and Blossom Roads in Fall River on August 20, 2011 for a five-mile heart-healthy walk through the City's Bioreserve. The group followed the Mowry Path along the footsteps of Weetamoe and King Philip, across Rattlesnake Brook to view the remains of Dr. Nathan Durfee's 18th Century water-powered mill next to his pond. The group then returned on the esker trail left by the Laurentide Glaciation back across Queen Gutter Brook to the starting point at Fighting Rock Corner. Green Futures, a non-profit educational and advocacy organization of people who share a concern for the protection of the shared environment, organizes walks every month.
