Nearly two dozen employees of the Citizens-Union Savings Bank participated in the first event planned by the Bank's newly-formed Employee Wellness Committee by walking three-quarters of a mile from the Bank to Saint Anne's Hospital and back on a rainy May 23rd afternoon. Gathering from the downtown headquarters as well as from several branch offices at 5:30 p.m., employees took off at a brisk pace down South Main Street on one of the City's designated walking routes. "It was a really enjoyable event," commented Fatima Vieira who helped to lead the group. The Wellness Committee plans to make walks a regular part of their wellness program designed to improve employee health on a voluntary basis. The Bank is working with their medical insurance provider, Tufts Health Plan, whose representatives are working with the Wellness Committee and is supplying pedometers and other gifts to help motivate employees to join the group activities.
