Representatives of six local health and environmental organizations were on hand at the Downtown Farmers' Market on June 30, 2011, to share information with the public. The Market takes place every Thursday morning on the plaza that runs from the new Fall River Justice Center to Sullivan Drive next to Government Center. Half a dozen farm stands with local vendors, a food booth from CD-REC, and live music were also part of the mix.. "We saw this as a great opportunity to provide information on health, health care and a number of local resources each week," noted Seven Hills Behavioral Health representative Dawn Nardi who organizes the resources tables at the market each week throughout the summer. Click here for a video of the market, a brief interview with Dawn, and some of the music provided by the NuVo Trio. The Second Street market operate on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. into the fall. Other markets are available at Kennedy Park on Saturday mornings and and at Ruggles Park on Wednesdays.
