A group of volunteers at the First Congregational Church on Rock Street in Fall River began work on May 21, 2011 on what will become a community garden accessible to local neighbors. Church members worked most of the day to move good top soil into eight double raised beds constructed on the west side of the church building along June Street. Once filled and planted, church and community members will tend and harvest the produce either for their own use or for donation to local food pantries and soup kitchens. .
