Southcoast Hospital Cardiovascular Prevention Program staff Donna Querim and Amanda Szot provided free blood pressure and cholesterol checks on December 9, 2011 for the staff of the City's Community Maintenance staff at the Lewiston Street facility. "This is something that I try to arrange at least once a year," stated Julianne Kelly, Mass In Motion coordinator for the City who once worked as the wellness coordinator for city employees. The fifteen-minute screenings for total cholesterol, blood glucose and blood pressure, combined with a health risk assessment, provided valuable information to the staff, many of whom had not had this kind of screening in years. Cardiovascular nurse Donna Querim and registered dietitian Amanda Szot travel to schools and worksites throughout the Southcoast region providing similar screenings as part of Southcoast Hospitals commitment to prevention.
