The United Way of Greater Fall River held its Annual Day of Caring, an initiative in the community which focuses on volunteers cleaning up a specific location in the city. This year's focus was the on and off ramps from Route 195 to Plymouth Avenue. The event also served as United Way's Campaign Kick-off. The United Way received assistance and supplies from the City of Fall River and the Mass DOT, as well as from several local businesses along with the efforts of dozens of volunteers from local organizations and businesses. The effort resulted in a cleaner entrance for visitors to the City and the chance to get some heart-healthy exercise for the participants. Click here for the Herald News article.
