Mayor William Flanagan, Police Chief Daniel Racine, Director of Community Maintenance Kenneth Pacheco, and Neighborhood Coordinator Perry Long walked with Saint Anne's Neighborhood Association president Pamela Laliberte-Lebeau through the neighborhood on a cold and rainy May 16th afternoon. The walk was part of a series of "walking meetings" that the Mayor has taken with schools and neighborhood organizations to get a first-hand look at the challenges that each faces in the City. Issues around traffic, crime, and litter are common in most neighborhoods. The meetings often help to resolve some issues immediately through the action of the police or the public works departments. Neighbors are also informed about upcoming improvements that the City is planning and provides a way for them to contribute their ideas and suggestions for making the city a healthier place to live and work. There are 12 neighborhood associations, representing most sections of the city. Click here for the video of the meeting. Click here for a page describing another neighborhood meeting with the Mayor. More information is available by contacting Perry Long at 508-676-0324.
