Flint Neighborhood Association president Carlos Cesar has organized a series of school trips to the Fall River Bioreserve starting on May 30, 2012, to introduce elementary age children to the natural world. Tours will be conducted by Linton Harrington of the Trustees of Reservations who will teach students about the natural environment within their city limits. Mr. Cesar held a news conference for City officials and children at the Fonseca School where the trips will be organized. Mayor Flanagan, Representative Paul Schmid, City Councilor Dave Dennis, and School Committee member Richard Pavao spoke to the group before Mr. Harrington presented a PowerPoint about the Bioreserve to the children. Fall River Mass in Motion coordinator Julianne Kelly, who attended the presentation, will also assist in leading the tours along with Anna Costa when Mr. Harrington is not available.
