The final Saturday Challenge event of the four-month 2012 Fall River Fitness Challenge challenged participants to walk or run from Community Development Recreation on Bank Street in Fall River to Bicentenial Park at the bottom of President Avenue. Participants were then challenged to walk or run to the top of President Avenue's steep hill and back three times before returning. "I can't believe I really did it it all," stated Carolyn Wills who joined the Challenge late but who has been a steady participant since. Organized by the Diabetes Association, Inc. (DAI),  Community Development Recreation (CD-REC), the Fall River YMCA, General Fitness and Healthy City Fall River, and sponsored by Partners for a Healthier Community, the Challenge offers low cost opportunities for those who live, work or attend school in Greater Fall River to get fit, lose weight, have fun and win prizes.
