The eighth Saturday Challenge event of ten in the four-month Fall River Fitness Challenge took participants from Community Development Recreation on Bank Street in Fall River to the bottom of President Avenue. Participants were then challenged to walk or run to the top of President Avenue's steep hill and back three times before returning. "It was a tough challenge, but I survived," stated Kim Cole who has been participating in the Challenges events since January. Organized by the Diabetes Association, Inc. (DAI),  Community Development Recreation (CD-REC), the Fall River YMCA, General Fitness and Healthy City Fall River, and sponsored by Partners for a Healthier Community, the Challenge offers low cost opportunities for those who live, work or attend school in Greater Fall River to get fit, lose weight, have fun and win prizes.
