The Sixfth Annual Fall River Fitness Challenge began its fourth Warm-up Challenge series with a sign-up on September 22, 2012, at Greater Fall River Re-Creation headquarters at 72 Bank Street. Partners Community Health and Well-being manager Annemarie Sharkey met with participants to answer questions and to describe the upcoming events. "We're looking forward to being able to offer a steady nutrition class throughout the time in the 2012 Fitness Challenge," commented Sharkey. "We're also looking for more partners and gyms making it the Greater Fall River Fitness Challenge," she added. The Challenge Warm-up will begin on September 29th with a "Take a Walk with a Southcoast Doc" event at Heritage State Park in conjunction with Southcoast Hospitals. Sponsored by Community Development Recreation (CD-REC), the Fall River YMCA, General Fitness and Healthy City Fall River, the Warm-up signed up over nearly 50 participants for the three-month series.
