A number of local officials took their first look at the area on the northeast side of Cook Pond that is being considered for trail development. The exploration took place on November 19, 2012, starting from the Dwelley Street entrance to Cook Pond and proceeding to the public boat ramp at the west end of Henry Street. "There is a lot of overgrowth that will have to be cleared," stated Fall River Mass In Motion coordinator Julie Kelly. "But once done, the trail will offer magnificent views of the Pond and the natural setting in that part of the City," she added. The project is being led by Kelly as part of the Fall River Mass in Motion effort to create walkable and bikeable spaces throughout the City to make it easier for residents to stay fit.
