Sponsored by Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter the second Family Fitness and Fun Day took place at the UMass-Dartmouth Tripp Athletic Center on March 17, 2012. Dozens of children and adults gathered to listen to NBC Television's Biggest Loser contestants Mark and Jay Kruger and former Red Sox pitcher Brian Rose, who now works for Sutter, talk about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, which includes plenty of physical activity. Participants were then divided into groups to participate in a variety of fun activities, including an obstacle course, martial arts training, a nutrition and cooking demo and an opportunity to visit resource tables and the Southcoast Health Van. Since 2007, Sutter has sponsored a number of free sports clinics, which have benefited 2,400 children across Bristol County. Click here for the video of the event.
