The Office of Mayor Will Flanagan provided a First Day Family Festival at Kennedy Park from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. free of charge to anyone who wanted to enjoy some winter fun on a relatively warm New Year's Day. A variety of activities designed for children and accompanying adults were held at the lower end of the park including arts and crafts and science experiments provided by the Fall River Children's Museum, and both train and horse-drawn wagon rides. A variety of food, including kale soup from Terra Nostra, chili from Blount Seafood, chicken soup from McGovern’s Restaurant, hot dogs from CD Recreation and Domino’s Pizza. In addition to the provided activities, many children gravitated to to large snow pile as well as the playground equipment nearby. Click here for photos of last year's event.
