Greater Fall River Re-creation (CD-REC) held its 2012 free Halloween party at its Bank Street headquarters for hundreds of children and their parents. Supported by a grant from the Greater Fall River United Way, the event provides a safe and wholesome venue to enjoy the holiday and learn a little bit about the many health and social service resources in the community. "The children have a great time playing lots of games while their parents find out about important resources that the community offers," commented CD-REC executive director Grace Gerling. Participating agencies included Greater Fall River Re-Creation, HealthFirst Family Care Center, MyFallRiver.org, Project Assist, Southcoast Hospitals, United Neighbors, WIC, and Partners for a Healthier Community offering information about its Soda-Free Challenge. Pizza and refreshments were provided by Seth Hockert-lotz of Domino's Pizza South Main Street. Click here for a video of the event. Click here and here to see pictures from other Halloween events.
