Over the past year, Fall River Park Advocate volunteer began collaborating with Durfee High School on a campaign to address the need to reduce litter throughout the city. The first part of a two-part campaign was rolled out on February 29, 2012 at the High School when a logo designed by students was unveiled. Junior Brandan Miller came up with the winning logo and was applauded for producing a design that will be used throughout the city. The second part of the campaign will involve a media campaign. "This campaign is not just about litter, it is about education and the effects of litter pertaining to health, environment and economic development. Students will learn about how litter happens, facts about litter, laws and enforcement, and ultimately how to reduce litter in our city," said City Councilor Dave Dennis.
