A dozen seniors gathered at the Niagara-Maplewood Senior Center May 8, 2012 for the second in a series of programs designed for seniors who want to maintain or increase their good health. Six group meetings offer skill-building and take-home tools to promote health. Presentations are made by Family Service Association case manager Tami O'Neil and nurse Jennifer Leiter, RN. Topics include nutrition, positive mental health, medication management, physical activity, fall prevention, and health advocacy. The program is underwritten by a Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs grant to Bristol Elder Services. "This is really a terrific opportunity for our seniors to get up-to-date information on a number of topics that can improve the quality of their lives," commented Associate Council on Aging Director Pauline Gousie who helped to arrange the series, which will be presented at the South Main and North End Senior Centers as well. For more information about the program, contact Ms. Gousie at 508-324-2401.
