The Southeast Recovery Learning Community (SERLC) held a hugebowling party for people in recovery and their friends on July 26, 2013 at Wonder Bowl Lanes on Hathaway Road in New Bedford. Over 100 bowlers from both Fall River and New Bedford came to the facility to enjoy a free afternoon of healthy activity and socialization in celebration of the Fall River Sheltering Arms Connection Center at 66 Troy Street. The Center is open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to Noon and offers social groups to provide connections to others in a safe environment. The Recovery Learning Center, funded by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, is completely peer-run and is dedicted to promoting the empowerment of peers and their family in a caring recovery community.
