The Greater Fall River Fitness Challenge held its sixth Challenge event on January 26, 2013 at Greater Fall River Re-Creation's gym on Bank Street under the direction of Amy Jones Delgiacco and Fitness Fusion. The hour-long workout brought in over 75 Challenge participants for a boot camp style workout. "Amy keeps everyone moving for the entire hour," noted Challenge coordinator Annemarie Sharkey, who held a raffle for prizes as she does at the end of every Challenge event. The event brought many first time Challenge participants and a number people from the three surrounding towns of Somerset, Swansea and Westport. Sponsored by Partners for a Healthier Community and Southcoast Hospitals, the event was organized with the participation of All Generations Fitness, the Diabetes Association, Inc., Fitness Fusion, , General Fitness. Greater Fall River Re-creation, Healthy City Fall River, and the Fall River YMCA. The Challenge offers low cost opportunities for those who live, work or attend school in the Greater Fall River Area to get fit, lose weight, have fun and win prizes. Registration is open through the end of January, and many people will register and weigh-in at their workplace in the coming weeks. Click here for a video of the event.
