The 21st Century Community Learning Center at the Doran Elementary School invited families to come to Greater Fall River Re-Creation at 72 Bank Street for a "Funderful Family Night" on June 19, 2013. Parents and children had a chance to join in a Zumba session provided by FitWorks, a Futsal (Brazilian indoor soccer) session, and a drumming session with Wiggle Kids leader Coach Kim Ferrara. Children were also invited to engage in arts and crafts, to watch a Judo demonstration, and to learn about dinosaurs. Parents were invited to talks with staff of a dozen organizations at resource table that included the AT & T Mobility Store, Family Service Association, Greater Fall River Re-Creation, HealthFirst Dental Program, Katie Brown Educational Program, Partners for a Healthier Community Soda-free Pledge, Saint Anne's Hospital, and Southcoast Hospitals' Cardiovascular Prevention Program. "We'd like to thank all the children and parents who came here tonight. It was a great night," stated 21st Century Site Coordinator Paul Moniz. Click here for a ten-minute video of the event.
