Mayor William Flanagan, working with Carlos Cesar of the Flint Business and Neighborhood Associations, helped to bring Rockwell Amusements to Lafayette Park in the Flint Neighborhood on April 13, 2013. The week-long event was planned to coincide with the April school vacation. "This is a great opportunity for the families, especially during the Spring Break, to come down here and have a great time," stated Flanagan who recalled going to Lincoln Park and Rocky Point as a child. Owner Harold Fera of Rockwell Amusements in North Scituate, RI was on hand for the opening as was former Flint Association Neighborhood Association president Cathy Assad and current Association president Carlos Cesar. The event is expected to raise funds for the Association which is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Flint neighborhood. Click here for a four-minute video of the event.
