Jugglers, clowns and elephants came to Father Travassos Park on June 26th for two shows under the big top. The event was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fall River with the help of other sponsors and gave children of all ages the chance to see live animal acts that also included zebras, dogs, goats, llamas and six tigers. "The tent has been completely full just about both shows," noted honorary Ringmaster Rev. Robert Lawrence for the Rotary. "It's been a great day," added Jo Ann Bentley, also of the Rotary, whose organization gave away hundreds of tickets to low-income families. The Kelly Miller Circus is one of only about a dozen left in the country that performs under a tent, in this case one that is forty feet high and raised with the help of one of the elephants. The Circus was purchased in 2007 by John Ringling North II whose great uncles were the famous Ringling Brothers. Click here for a for a three-and-a-half minute video of the part of the Circus.
