PARTNERS | HEALTHY CITY  | HOW HEALTHY | VISION | SUMMIT | PRIORITIES | FUNCTIONS | CITY OF FALL RIVER

BMX bikers have two places in Fall River to practice their sport: one at the North Park Skateboard Park and the other at Britland Park off of 17th Street. These two parks are part of the Fall River Mass In Motion effort to create safe places for active living throughout the City, especially for younger people. There is a growing interest in BMX biking, but it requires paths that are specifically engineered for BMX bikes. A group of young people spend every summer day at the North Park facility and smaller groups use the course behind the Police Station at Britland Park. In addition, Chris Durand organizes weekly BMX rides around Fall River every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. (weather and daylight permitting) leaving from the Flint Plaza. Mass In Motion Coordinator Juliane Kelly has looked at other off-road courses and is eager to meet with anyone with an interest in cycling in any form. Click here for a short video interview with the youth at North Park and scenes from both BMX tracks. Click here for a BMX demonstration at Griffin Park. For more information, contact Mass In Motion coordinator Julie Kelly at 508-324-2405 or Fall River Bicycle Committee Chairman Brian Pearson.
