At the instigation of their Chairman, Brian Pearson, members of the Fall River Bicycle Committee held their first ride of the 2015 season on a warm spring April 18th day following a long, grueling winter. A dozen riders, including old-timers and first-timers, met at 9:00 a.m. at Del's Lemmonade on Child Street in Warren and headed south to Bristol, an easy 3.87-mile ride along the beautiful East Bay Bike Path, and then back north to Barrington for a total ride of 20 miles.. Almost one-year-old Ava rode in a bike trailer behind her grandmother, Robin. Group members helped recover a runaway dog and assisted a young lady with a bike malfunction. Brian and many members of the group are active supporters of the South Coast Bike Way, a route that is planned to go from Providence to Provincetown. The group is also advocating with Mass in Motion for more bike routes in Fall River. Members are looking forward to many more rides this season. For more information on future rides, contact Fall River Bicycle Committee Chairman Brian Pearson. (Photos courtesy of Brian Pearson)
