The Greater Fall River Fitness Challenge now has its own Official Sandwich! Thanks to the collaboration between Chef Jessica Williams, DTR, of Creating Healty Solutions in Swansea and Dunny's Deli owner Chris Donovan, a new menu will be appearing at the restaurant to make it easier for Challenge participants to drop the pounds. Williams teaches that foods loaded with carbohydrates like bread, potatoes, rice and baked goods or sweets of any kind are chiefly responsible for weight gain and suggested some menu items at the new restaurants that would give people some better choices when they eat away from home. "We are starting with some items like our lettuce wrap turkey-bacon sandwich," says Head Cook Cory Platt, "but we'll be adding some vegetarian salads and other options as time goes on." Williams will be offering some low-carb cooking classes along with weekly nutrition sessions that will be running each Saturday at 10:00 a.m. after the Challenges. The Challenge offers low cost opportunities for those who live, work or attend school in the Greater Fall River Area. Registration is open through the end of January.
