Saint Anne's Hospital began offering a free six-part program on March 4, 2015 that can help adults looking to take positive steps toward wellness by eating healthier foods and becoming physically active. The "Eat Healthy, Be Active Community Workshop" series designed to help adults of any age to learn useful tips for healthy lifestyles has been running in the auditorium at People, Incorporated headquarters at 4 South Main Street starting at 5:30 p.m. Developed by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and based on the Dietary and Physical Activity Guidelines for American, the series includes session on enjoying healthy food that tastes great, quick healthy meals and snacks, eating healthy on a budget, making healthy eating part of a total lifestyle, tips for losing weight and keeping it off, and physical activity that is key to living well. The series is facilitated by Rose Couto, RN, CDE of Saint Anne's Hospital's Diabetes Education Program.
