More than seventy people turned out for the Taste of Fall River event at the Elks Club in the City's North End on January 24, 2015 to support The Harvest, the Home's Community Garden project. Food from the Atlantic Sports Bar and Restaurant, Academica, Aladdin's Pizza, the Pink Bean, Tequila Lime Cantina, and eight other local restaurants was donated to assist The Harvest in raising over $3,000 that night. The project that will provide a 27,000 square foot garden on the grounds of Bay View, The Home's independent living facility at 4380 North Main Street. Food harvested from the garden will benefit both the Bay View residents and local food banks. Kayla Aguiar, the project's lead coordinator, hopes to get volunteer from the surrounding area to help achieve The Harvest's mission and goal to help create a healthier community.
