Scott Peets of Peets Farm in Dartmouth welcomed Partners Executive Director Dave Weed to his farm in Dartmouth on July 8, 2015 to show him how he raises his animals and to describe the farming methods he uses to raise them in a way that ensures their health and the quality of the food they provide. Scott presented at the Worksite Wellness Collaborative meeting in JUne, and Dave suggested the visit as a way to learn more about what he does. Scott has operated his farm for the past two years on acreage that he rents near the Westport town line. Scott grew up in New Bedford and only learned farming from the sustainable agriculture courses he took at Bristol Community College as well as reading, videos and on-line sources of information. He sells his produce at three farmer's markets, including the Westport Farmers Market, during the summer months. Click here for a 10-minute video of Scott describing his farm and farming methods. Anyone interested in purchasing his products can consult his Facebook page for sales locations or contact him directly at 774-473-3338.
