Saint Anne's Hospital is partnering with Silverbrook Farm of Dartmouth for another year to offer a farmers' market on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Hospital at the corner of Middle and South Main Street. In addition to providing great produce and related products for the general community, the Hospital's Community Health Program, in partnership with the Diabetes Education Program, is offering "Steward Bucks" for high-risk patients with diabetes. These free vouchers help patients achieve their clinical goals. The market is "open to the community, our staff, and a special program in our Diabetes Education Program who, when they enroll, get a ten dollar voucher for each week of the market which runs every Thursday now through the end of October," stated Strategic Communications Coordinator Anne Ferreira. The program has demonstrated that a coordinated approach to healthy eating can have a positive impact on people with diabetes. Click here to see the full report.
