Mass in Motion Fall River Coordinator Julie Kelly organized gatherings at two senior housing developments on March 18, 2015 in order to survey residents on their shopping habits. The survey was part of a project funded by the Mass Council on Aging to explore ways to encourage walking among senior citizens in Fall River. Julie was joined by  Partners Executive Director David Weed, Partners staff Marcia Picard and Eric Andrade, and Volunteer Pau DeVillers who helped to get surveys from residents of the Doolan Apartments and the Bates & Tower Apartment nearby. The survey requested information will help in designing incentives to encourage more senior citizens to walk to some of the neighborhood markets in South End and other parts of the City. The group will continue to work on the project until the end of the grant in late June. Click here for a five-minute video of portions of the two gatherings.
