The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth College of Nursing's Dean Kimberly Christopher and other faculty members and graduate students joined members of the Advisory Council on October 7, 2015 to review the College's accomplishments and to discuss future plans. The mission of the College is to advance nursing knowledge and maximize the healthy of the citizens of the Commonwealth and beyond though exemplary nursing education, scholarship and community engagement. Some of the College's goals include: 1) the development of a new building complex that would allow for the expansion of nursing and health services, 2) realignment of the curriculum to increase nursing and interdisciplinary course options, 3) increasing faculty engagement in research and scholarship activities, and 4) strengthening the effectiveness and impact of community engagement initiatives. The Advisory Council will continue to assist the College faculty as it moves through its upcoming accreditation review process.
