The Diabetes Association (DAI) of People Incorporated and Saint Annes Hospital worked together to put on a Diabetes Resource Fair at the People Incorporated  Main Street headquarters next to Government Center on June 4, 2016. They invited educators and vendors to the free four-hour event that was open to the public and designed to raise awareness about the effects of type 2 diabetes in the Greater Fall River community. "It's really an opportunity for everyone to come together and network" noted John Quintas of the DAI. "it's also an opportunity for the public to come in and see what kind of services are available," he continued. Agency representatives included Saint Anne's Hospital's Rose Couto and Laurie Hammontree, YMCA Southcoast Diabetes Prevention Project Manager Lu Brito, and People Incorporated's Robin Jones. Informational tables were offered by the SMILES Program, AstraZenica, the  UMass Extension SNAP-ED Program, Center for Sight, Head Start and Tufts Health Plan. The DAI and Saint Anne's team up to offer a Eat Healthy Be Active series, a Diabetes Prevention Program along with DAI's monthly Information and Support group.
