Seniors at the North End Senior Center were treated to a presentation on Heart Health by Lisa Grillo of Our Lady's Haven in Fairhaven and Lisa Lebreux of Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River on February 16, 2016. The twenty-minute talk helped seniors identify the warning signs of a heart attack or a stroke as well as some of the things they could do to reduce their chances of having either. Following the presentation, they participated in a drawing for a door prize, each received Heart Association pins, and all were offered a healthy smoothie made with yogurt, strawberries and blueberries. The program was part of a series that the two are doing at each of the four senior centers in Fall River during the month of February, National Heart Month. "The seniors really enjoyed the chance to learn and ask questions as well as the prizes and food," noted Council on Aging Associate Director Laurel Jonas.
