Following a series of twice-weekly indoor walks at the Kuss Middle School over the Winter, Mass in Motion Fall River has begun weekly walks at the Heritage State Park boardwalk every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. for anyone who would to get some regular heart-healthy exercise. Walkers meet at the parking lot next to the bridge leading to the Heritage State Park building and proceed along the boardwalk to the Iwo Jima monument at Independence Park and back, about eight-tenths of a mile each way. Those who do not wish to walk the whole route by head back at any point. The walks are part of it's efforts to promote walking throughout Fall River and includes a weekly outdoor walk at Kennedy Park. That Walking Club is coordinated by Jessica Mattos from Bristol Community College and is designed to give people an opportunity to make walking a regular part of their routine for health benefits. The group meets every Tuesday at 5:00 p.m., walkers can meet up at the Kennedy Park pavilion (stone shelter) at the end of the parking lot that can be accessed from Broadway at Bradford Avenue. There's no need to call ahead for either walk; just show up  and join the group! More information about walking resources is available at  WalkFallRiver.org or the  WalkFallRiver Facebook pageClick here for a one-minute   video of the walk.
