PARTNERS | HEALTHY CITY  | HOW HEALTHY | VISION | SUMMIT | PRIORITIES | FUNCTIONS | CITY OF FALL RIVER

Nearly fifty Steering Committee members and guests remained after the February 12, 2016 meeting of the Partners Steering Committee meeting to listen to a short presentation about Partners' collaborative work and then to hear from Senator Michael Rodrigues and Representatives Carole Fiola, Paul Schmid III and Alan Silvia. The special session was arranged to help the Legislative Delegation understand the scope of collaborative efforts with which Partners is involved and to provide an opportunity for Delegation members to share their concerns regarding health issues facing the City of Fall River. Senator Rodrigues spoke at length about a pending referendum to legalize recreational marijuana, Representative Fiola echoed his concerns and spoke about the many other challenges the City faces, and Representative Schmild spoke about the efforts to make locally-grown food more accessible. Click here for a 37-minute video of the legislators' remarks and here for the PowerPoint slides that Dr. Weed presented at the beginning of the forum.
