Residents of Ships' Cove Apartments had the opportunity to help make two healthy recipes that included healthy fats but were low in carbohydrates on March 7, 2016 with the help of NHP Foundation Residential Services Coordinator Pamela Anderson-Livingston  Following recipes in the Old Ways African Health and Heritage Guide, Dr. David Weed, Executive Director of Partners, demonstrated how to make curried broccoli-cauliflower soup and chicken salad with fig balsamic dressing. "Both of these recipes are full of nutrition and can be relatively inexpensive if one uses frozen vegetables," noted Dr. Weed. The weekly "Ship Shapers" classes are  part of an on-going effort to bring health resources to the people who live in the building. Click here for a 40-minute video of the cooking demonstration.
