PARTNERS | HEALTHY CITY  | HOW HEALTHY | VISION | SUMMIT | PRIORITIES | FUNCTIONS | CITY OF FALL RIVER

The Staircase Galleries at Government Center are part of an initiative by Mass In Motion-Fall River to encourage physical activity among employees and visitors to Government Center. A new exhibit opened on July 21, 2016 to display the paintings of local artist Tony Henriques and the vision plans of local historian and planner Alfred J. Lima. Colorful, whimsical and memorable describes the artwork of Tony Henriques. A lifelong resident of Fall River, Mr. Henriqus goes beyond our surrounding attractions beaches, buildings and wildflowers to the beauty of Fenway Park and across the sea to locations in Ireland. Mr. Lima is one of a handful of individuals whose vision and persistence has resulted in the creation of the Southeastern Massachusetts Bioreserve as well as the City's newest linear park, now named the Alfred J. Lima Quequechan River Rail Trail, His designs allow viewers to imagine the potential of a city bordered by river and woodland and valued by preceding generations who set aside these spaces for residents and visitors to explore, protect, enjoy and celebrate.
