Employees at the Stop & Shop Distribution Center in Assonet, where many Fall River Area people work, held its tenth annual Health, Wellness, Safety and Fitness Fair on October 13, 2016. Over 700 of its associates cycle through the event that runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to permit all three shifts to participate. "We provide an opportunity for our associates to have a little fun, get educated on health and wellness, get some testing done, and understand what the community has to offer in the way of services," stated Human Resources Manager Eva Cabral who, along with Jean Limerick and Roger Beliveau organize the event with the help of Rachael Sirois and Bob Horne at the United Way of Greater Fall River. Participating organizations include the Boys and Girls ClubFamily Service Association, HealthFirst Family Care Center, the Women's Center, Learn2Cope, Southcoast Health, and Stanley Street Treatment and Resources.
