The Fall River YMCA held its 25th annual Healthy Kids Day on April 30, 2016 at its North Main Street facility. Wellness Coordinator Emily Bird, Director Frank Duffy and Child Care Staff Member Elisabeth MacKay were on hand to welcome members and non-members to the three-hour series of events that included a giant inflatable slide and obstacle course that filled the gym. Other activities included face painting, activities in the swimming pool as well as crafts and board games that ran on the fourth floor Education Achievement Center while other member activities were taking place. "Thank you so much for all of the community sponsors," stated Ms. Bird, including Saint Anne's Hospital and Ocean Spray, The event is designed to encourage kids and parents to commit to keeping the body and mind active over the summer, a time when many children gain weight and fall behind in their studies.
