Parents, caregivers and their children gathered for the first session of the spring Parent Academy program, this time held at Morton Middle School on April 6, 2017. The program focused on behavioral support and offered five classes: 1) "Common Sense Parenting", 2) "Family Paint Night", 3) "Managing Your Child's Behavior," 4) "No I won't & You Can't Make Me", and "Bingo for Books." The evening began with free pizza, and then, while parents went to one of the classes, the children got to play with three babysitters. "The Bingo for Books proved to be a fun way for parents and young children to learn together" stated project coordinator Barbara Allard, The Parent Academy will resume in May and June with more sessions covering a variety of topics of interest to parents and other caregivers.
