The Leduc Center for Civic Engagement at UMass-Dartmouth, the Southeastern MA Food Security Network (SMFSN), the Southeastern Massachusetts Agricultural Partnership (SEMAP), Coastline Elderly Services, and the Marion Institute  collaborated to hold a three-hour forum at the Charlton College of Business Learning Pavilion and Auditorium on February 1, 2017. Following a Keynote by Project Bread Executive Director Ellen Parker, seven local innovators presented short summaries of their innovations and challenges, and four expert panelists responded and answered questions from the audience of about 150. All enjoyed light, locally-sourced cuisine prepared by the University food service. The SMFSN is a coalition of food pantries, farms, foundations, and social service agencies working together to promote food security in Southeastern Massachusetts.
