At the January 13, 2017 meeting of Partners for a Healthier Community, Steering Committee members and guests were given the chance to hear from Fall River School Superintendent Dr. Matthew Malone regarding the relationship between the Fall River Schools and community organizations. Partners' School Wellness Coordinator Marcia Picard introduced Dr. Malone following reports from the various Task Forces and employees at the meeting. Dr. Malone stated his commitment to working collaboratively with the organizations represented on the Steering Committee and Task Forces. "As we get better, I think you're going to see us create of stand-alone networks of positions that will allow the work the you guys have been leading here to be much more integrated into our system," stated Malone. "You're going to see a lot of good things to come. We're being bold. We're trying things on. We're making some changes," he added.
