ComCast, the cable television broadcaster and cell phone provider for the City of Fall River, working in cooperation with the Mayor's Office of Volunteerism, held a clean-up and painting project at North Park in Fall River on October 4, 2003. This is an example of the kind of effort that contributes to a Healthier Fall River and can be organized by any group within the City. Volunteer Coordinator Eric Poulin can be contacted at 508-324-CITY (324-2489) to arrange to have the Department of Public Works deliver gloves and bags and to pick up trash bags at any event. Why not organize a clean up project in your neighborhood? Its great exercise, and it improves the quality of life for everyone in the City!

At the conclusion of the project, Mayor Edward M. Lambert, Jr. (right) congratulates ComCast area Vice-president Tom Coughlin and project coordinators Lucy Cabral and Fatima Lopes who organized nearly 100 employees, family members and local neighborhood volunteers for the project.

Following the clean up and painting project, Senator Joan Menard (right) recognizes ComCast's area Vice-President Tom Coughlin and the many volunteers who participated with a citation from the Massachusetts Senate.

Fall River Garden Club President Claire Melanson, Highland Neighborhood Association representative Doris Flanagan and North End Neighborhood Association representative Paulette Costa were present with City Volunteer Coordinator Eric Poulin
