Biodiversity Days
Action Plan Participant:  Fall River Biodiversity Days Committee

The Committee will plan and carry out events to correspond with the statewide Biodivesity Days, a program run by the Mass. Association of Conservation Commissions in which communities around the state take part in events to increase awareness of local biodiversity as a critical indicator of environmental health.

Goal:

To plan and carry out Biodiversity Days in Fall River, including field trips to local habitats lead by guides.

Method(s):

Provision of educational materials to select student populations within the Fall River Public Schools to encourage participation in Biodiversity Days.

Timeline:          

Planning and distribution of materials no later than March, 2006, for use in events from early spring to early June.

Indicators:       

Increased public understanding of the importance of biodiversity   

Progress: Project completed in June, 2006
