Boys and Girls Club Activities
Action Plan Participant:
Thomas Chew Memorial Boys and Girls Club of Fall River, Inc.

The Boys and Girls Club of Fall River, provides daily recreational and developmental activities for over 2,000 Fall River youth, over 4,000 youth in summer resident and day camp, and over 200 older teens and adults in their fitness programs.

 

Priority Area:  Environment and Recreation

2, B)  Increased and improved recreational opportunities for youth and adults

Goal:

To increase the availability of after-school recreational and developmental activities for youth.

Method(s):

Construction of a new 18,000 square foot addition, including a community room, learning center and teen center

Timeline:          

Anticipated completion in 2005

Indicators:       

Construction completed and programs operational

Progress: As of Spring 2005, construction of a new 18,000 square foot addition, including a community room, learning center and teen center is 80% complete and will allow for expansion of recreation programs for youth. They have added 120 new members this year.
