Boys and Girls Club Addition
Action Plan Participant:  Thomas Chew Memorial Boys and Girls Club

The Boys and Girls Club of Fall River provides daily recreational and developmental activities for over 2,000 Fall River youth, over 5,000 youth in summer resident and day camp, and over 200 older teens and adults in their fitness programs. A new addition was completed and a ribbon-cutting held in November, 2005, but remains to be furnished and equipped to serve older youth as a fully-functioning teen center. A fund drive by the Board of Directors is currently under way.

Goal:

To increase the availability of after-school recreational and developmental activities for youth. 

Method(s):

Construction and furnishing of a new 18,000 square foot addition, including a community room, learning center and teen center

Timeline:          

Anticipated complete opening in Spring of 2006

Indicators:        Construction completed and programs operational
Progress: Construction completed 2007
