Action Plan Participant:
Salvation Army

This is an after-school program that meets twice a week at the Salvation Army targeting elementary school age children and at-risk, low-income families. The program includes homework help, recreation, supper/snacks, crafts, community speakers, field trips and character-building lessons from the Bible.

2, B)  Increased and improved recreational opportunities for youth and adults

Goal:

To provide a safe place where at-risk children can receive positive guidance from role models and mentors giving them increased self-esteem and power to make positive life choices and to support families.

Method(s):

The program utilizes mentors, networking with community groups such as neighborhood associations, police schools, businesses, etc.
